King of Wake Format & Rules

  • The King of Wake is made up of 3 Rounds of competition, Taupo Wake Park, Backpaddock Lakes and Mangakino
  • Riders get a seeding run (up and back) and finals run (up and back) of the comp course, with the finals run counted towards comp placings and overall season King of Wake points allocation
  • Riders are allocated points as follows:

1st: 100 points

2nd: 80 points

3rd:  65 points

4th:  55 points

5th:  45 points

6th:  40 points

7th:  35 points

8th:  30 points

9th:  25 points

10th:  20 points

11th:   15 points

12th:  10 points

13th:  5 points

14th:  0 points

  • These points add up over the 3 rounds with Riders dropping their worst round to give their final score for the season
  • Riders are able to move up a division when their riding improves, however they are unable to take their points with them
  • While not mandatory, this is encouraged so as not to be holding back and allows other riders the room to improve also
  • Note that in the 2018/19 season, a Veterans (40+) category has been added to the King of Wake Rounds
